It’s coming! Especially after my Panera Bread observation session last week of local high school students. Finally, I feel the beginning expressions of how I will target what I am teaching to the youth of our society…a group with which I am most eager to work.
In response to a FaceBook post by one of my former 6th grade students…a BEAUTIFUL girl that was part of a 4th period class of 98% females…ALL reminding me of myself. In this post, she tagged a number of her friends and as it turns out almost all of those tagged were also former female students…many from that same class. These young ladies are all seniors in high school now and are preparing to enter what we as the adults have labeled, the “Real World” – as if the world in which they have been living for 18 years somehow hasn’t been real.
The following is my response that immediately and almost instinctively came from within. These kids drastically affected my life story. I will always hold a very special place for Plant City because of their beautiful spirits. However, they represent just the tip of the iceberg of raw, excited, immensely connected, brilliant youngsters in our world right NOW! This is likely the most under-utilized group in our entire society. The energy these kids possess…the ideas…the passion…THIS is what I am beginning to harness here in Sarasota and beyond.
So…here it is…the first thing I’ve written since launching one year ago that is directly aimed at the high school population. Get ready, kids. Just as quickly as I have resources, I will be using them and connecting you all to them as we create an entirely different educational ‘system’. It is most definitely time. My response, written on 11/21/13…
‘Embrace your exactly perfect look! The more you are able to do so, the more radiant and beautiful the light that emits from you. THAT is the deepest beauty that exists and no matter what you appear as on the outside…no matter what achievements you’ve earned…no matter what possessions you have or don’t have…if you be and live your unique Truth, people will feel and experience your light and it will make them feel nothing but unbelievably happy & positive. And THIS is what is changing the world more quickly than anything else. All of you girls are gorgeous & most importantly, your spirits come through in your smiles and your eyes. I can’t believe how many of you from my classes are all still friends?! That is amazing! I want to wish you all tremendous happiness in your lives. Follow your hearts and trust the love in your world. Do not be overcome by the fear that defines most of the world in which you have lived, thus far. There isn’t anything you can’t be or do if you BELIEVE it. We absolutely can create a New Earth defined entirely by cooperation, compassion, peace, joy, happiness, love, and fun! Do not believe the illusion that this doesn’t already exist … it most certainly does and it is growing … quickly. Keep your minds and hearts open to ALL surrounding you. You ladies are all more powerful than you can imagine … right now!! Much peace & love…Aly :)’
